Spermbirds & The Uncommon Men From Mars Poster

German Harcore Punk Legends The Spermbirds have been one of my favourite bands and still are. They are an amazing live act and I was very happy to get the chance to do a poster for one of their shows at the JUZ Mannheim.

Halfway through printing the first design of the poster (that can be seen here) I came up with the idea to pay tribute to one of my artistic heroes Jim Phillips who created all the great Skateboard Art for Santa Cruz throughout the 80s and invented such iconic logos like the Screaming Hand or the Slimballs. Well, wait a minute... Slimeballs? Spermbirds! Slime... Sperm... Tada!! So this is the second Poster for the same show.
As I said, it's totaly a tribute, all credit for the illustration goes to the man Jim Phillips and I even noted that down on the back of the poster. Sue me...(no don't, please)
